2021 certainly started with a bang! The Perpetual People Co, Frankston, launched in January and to date have a team of 8 who are out every day supporting some fantastic people to achieve their goals.

The PPC blog will be here to provide news, not just about us, but all services across the sector. We just want the best for everyone, and we are happy to promote anything that benefits the wider community.

Sport is a universal activity that means so much more than winning. We recognise that sport transcends all abilities and can foster inclusion, participation, communication, enjoyment, teamwork and well-being.

In partnership with Ebony Corlass at Thanks For Playing (@thanks.for.playing_ ) we are in the process of writing a program called Soccer for the People, its for children with disabilities aged between 7 to 10 years old, the location is yet to be confirmed but it will be in the South East suburbs. Our coaching will include soccer skills and all the other incidental learning pieces including teamwork, communication, counting, body language, time and fitness. It will be great fun, interactive and the kids will be in safe hands with one support coach per two people.

Please jump enquire here and register your interest, we will drop you a line and begin taking registrations soon.

We love this……

We have loved listening to the podcasts from the team at DSC, you`ll find them here:

Disability Done Different: Podcast — DSC (teamdsc.com.au)

In particular the Kurt Fearnly podcast is brilliant. Kurt is a three-time Paralympic gold medallist and two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist. He has won over 40 marathons, including New York, Chicago and London in a career spanning more than 20 years. What an inspiration!

Thankyou

The success that our people have enjoyed so far includes passing an animal health care course, beginning employment, setting up a yard work business, learning how to cook, sailing with the team at Sailability - Mornington Yacht Club Official Site (morningtonyc.net.au) and moving in to a new home.

We wouldn`t be anything without these people and their families and our opening blog is an opportunity to give thanks to them all, we enjoy working with them so much and look forward to seeing what other goals are achieved across this year.

Thank you all so much.

Carlos
